Conforming to covid restrictions has been hard. The QBLBC Christmas Party was a celebration of the community that we are.
More very sad news.
It is with much regret that we have to inform you of the passing of Brenda Cohen.
Brenda had been a long standing, active member, of our Club and will be sadly missed
Brenda passed peacefully away yesterday after a prolonged illness.
Brenda was always ready to help around the club, helping with the Sunday Draws and
always available to help Vicki in the kitchen at many of the Club events.
We pass on our condolences to her family.
Bowlers, we have a solution.
While our covid defence of having the rooftop air extractor is still in force, Building Maintenance has replaced the closed-box thermostat with a standard one.
This means we have to be respectful of others’ needs and not play the My Settings game.
And please, the last person out should set the bottom thingy on the thermostat to 15 degrees for the night.
Be kind…
We have just been informed that Peter McLachlan passed away peacefully on November 16th.
Peter was a member of Qualicum quite a few years ago but I am sure there are some that remember Peter.
He was a very active member of the Club serving as Games Director for a couple of years.
He was also a great organiser such as for one event, Burns Night, which we always remember.
He moved from Qualicum to Chemainus and then to Sydney.
A very sad loss.

Sadly, we must report the passing of Willi Odendaal on Wednesday.
Willi was a member of the Club for 18 years, joining in 2003.
He was a keen bowler both in Club and Open Competitions and also enjoyed Short Mat and Carpet bowling in the winter.
He served as Club President in 2012 and again in 2018 and between times was a very active member of the Club.
He also served a term as District President.
His favourite job was being Santa Claus at our Christmas parties and he also excelled as an actor in our Christmas pantomime many years ago.
All in all, Willi was a great asset to the Club and will be sadly missed
RIP
