QBLBC – History

On April 27th, 1979 the Qualicum and District Lawn Bowling Club was incorporated as a Society with 50 playing members plus Chartered Members.  In 1992 an extension was completed that doubled the size of the club house and provided room for two short mats or four carpet bowls mats for indoor bowling. In 1995 our club underwent a name change to Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club.

On the club’s 25th anniversary, construction commenced on a further expansion of the club house and included an Indoor Green. This expansion project was completed in the summer of 2007.  The new indoor facility includes three regulation sized greens.

The Qualicum Beach Lawn Bowling Club is a non-profit organization.  Our club is run almost entirely by our members who step forward to volunteer in many different ways to run a successful club. Our history reflects the tremendous contributions that past and present members have made to the success of our club.
