Congratulations to the team of Brian Mitchell and Eric Ewen.

They will proudly represent BC at the Canadian National Championships, at North Vancouver LBC is hosting the Nationals from

August 16-20th.

There were 26 teams and they beat some of the best bowlers in BC.

Job well done and we are so proud of you

.

Also congratulations to silver medalist Lynn Chwartacki along with Sharon Baldwin, Kathy Harms and Gina Gudzowaty who will represent women’s fours at the same event.

Our club alone is sending 3 bowlers to Nationals, how great is that!!

Wishing you success and enjoy the experience.

Canada Day July 1, 2026

The turnout for Canada Day was amazing with 10 of our new members mixed into the crowd. The players plus audience numbered about 70!!

There were 4 rinks of triples and 4 rinks of fours.

First we started we started with a Spider,  photos, and the singing of Oh Canada.

After the games we all dug into a feast prepared by our excellent kitchen crew.

Prizes were handed out to the top 4 teams, then Margaret organized a Bingo game with Canada themed playing cards.

Great fun all the way around!

Many thanks to games committee, bar tenders, greens and setup crew, all who volunteered to help out and a big hug to Edwina and her amazing kitchen crew.

Without our volunteers none of this would be possible so many thanks!!

Snowball Tournament

The Snowball event was held on June 12 and was a new event for our bowlers.

The 1st four ends were skipped by players who were normally leads. Their introduction to that position was an eye-opener for them but  they did have lots of support from other players. It was a great way of showing them what happens at the skip position.

The next four ends were skipped by thirds, and the last 4 ends were taken by the skips.

After some confusion as to the rules, the players dug right in and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, particularly the newer players who were on winning teams.

Thank you to Darlene Opacic and Stuart Goodby for organizing the event.

Thank you to all the volunteers who made this event a success–kitchen, bar, greens and anyone we have missed.

1st place-Graham Rae, Susan Medhurst and Robert Willis

2nd place-Len Bettam, Barb Radcliff/John Eyre and Terry Cowan

3rd place-Stu Goodby, Terry Hick and Adele Turner
