The Gold Medal game looked like it was over by the 6th end and David Gardner’s team was comfortable. Then Brent Jansen’s threesome made a furious move to overtake them in the second half to be one up after the eleventh end.
Smith made a fantastic toucher to tie it up in the twelfth and the audience erupted.
In the extra end, Smith made a great draw to beat Hansen’s shot bowl. Then a remarkable draw to the jack by Jansen forced Gardner to try a runner, but he was just off line. All players were given a great round of applause for a very entertaining game.
Winning team was Brent Jansen, Vern Hagstrom and Jan Hansen.
2nd place were David Gardner, Pete Smith and Gopal Gowda.
3rd were Ryan Pollard, Ozzie Chambers, Lorane Martin.
